GENERAL:
This section contains a selection of evidence-based home exercises that have been selected, reviewed and studied by our team of kinesiologists, physiotherapists and physiatrists (medical doctor) with specialized knowledge of musculoskeletal disorders.
LATERAL HIP PAIN:
These exercises are selected for patients experiencing lateral hip pain due to greater trochanteric pain syndrome without signs of neurologic or structural dysfunction. Please consult your health care provider to ensure these exercises are appropriate for your condition.
KEYS TO SUCCESS:
The videos are designed to provide a simple and proven set of home exercises that can be tailored to the patients’ needs and adjusted based on their skill. Each video contains tips to ensure proper technique, and ways to modify to make the exercises more or less difficult depending on skill. The program contains five (5) exercises (1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a) with simpler variations (1b, 2b, 3b, 4b, 5b) that can be used for those requiring an easier program. The goal is completion of FIVE (5) exercises, FIVE (5) days a week, for more than FIVE (5) weeks. On average the program will take about 15 minutes per day. See the HANDOUT below for more details.
