MSKMEDICINE.COM grew out of a idea that teachers of MSK medicine could do a better job of translating knowledge to learners of all levels of experience. We wanted to address the struggles experienced by a large number of students when trying to acquire MSK related clinical skills by producing a set of high-quality, concise, clinical exam instructional videos that could just as easily be accessed from home on a desktop, as at the bed side on a smartphone.
As well, our initial pilot studies identified a gap between the evidence for the treatment of MSK impairments, and clinicians' actual practice. Clinicians told us they don't often read meta-analyses, but do want to be evidence-based in their practice. MSKMEDICINE.COM is our attempt to address some of the barriers identified between clinicians and the evidence by providing a free, easily accessible, up-to-date, web resource that brings evidence out of the research journals and into a clinically relevant format.
Above is a running, up to date, total of the current contents of the site. Check back often as we're adding new content on a regular basis.
Earn CME credits! Many physicians and allied health organizations require annual continued education credits. Recognizing the recent changes in how we gather and review information, many of the organizations will accept “internet searches” as an independent learning activity. (Please see your organization’s guidelines regarding the specifics and whether you qualify).
At www.mskmedicine.com each and every EBM article or Clinical skill video can be a learning experience. By clicking on our feedback icon you will be sent an email outlining your search and the impact the information has on your practice. You can then submit this information to your organization and even upload the email as supporting documentation!
"The clinical skills videos are an excellent resource and I encourage my medical students and residents to use them. They are perfect for a quick reference that can be used as a study tool or at the bedside."
