L’Hermitte Sign

L’Hermitte sign is a maneuver used to detect positional cervical nerve root compression. To perform this test, passively flex the patient’s neck forward. The patient may also perform this test actively. A positive test is the presence of electric-like sensation down the spine or extremities reported by the patient.
